Parents of Helena Maderic:  John Maderic and Helen Malesek of Kuty, Slovakia.
Helena Maderic:  born on 18 Aug 1858 in Kuty, Slovakia.  Died 23 Feb 1940 in Schenectady, NY
married in Kuty to Joseph Vavra who died in 1892.

They had six children, who were all born in Kuty and later immigrated to the United States.
               Helena was the last to immigrate in 1911.

  • Joseph Vavra, Jr. (March 16, 1878--December 12, 1957 in Johnstown, NY)
  • Teresa Vavra Antalek (June 29, 1880--April 20, 1963 in Natick, MA)
  • Genevieve Vavra Kadlick (1883--1936 in Natick, MA)
  • Anna Vavra Hesek (July 26, 1886--Dec 2, 1962 in Matick, MA)
  • Josephine Vavra Palkovic (1893--1981 in Schenectady, NY)

From her obituary in 1940, we learned that Helena had three brothers.

  • John Maderic of Newburgh [NY]
  • Joseph Maderic of New York City
  • Michael Maderic of Vienna [Austria].

They had seven children (one deceased)

        [John's daughter] Margaret married James Ramavaglia from Italy.

This John is a relative of Tomas Maderic where Thomas Palkovic was a boarder.

Also, Thomas Palkovic was a boarder in the Schenectady, NY home of Thomas Maderics according to the 1910 census.

married in 1897 in Cz to Anna Pauline Valach [Valachovic] (b. 1874)
They had four children:

Thomas is relative of John J. Maderick (1869--1955) listed above.
