Louis Antalek and Teresa Vavra Antalek

Teresa Vavra

• Born June 29, 1881 in Kuty, Slovakia  
• Married to Ludvik Antalek in about 1900  Probably in Kuty, Slovakia
• Immigrated to NY on Oct 3, 1910.  [Three children came with her:  Maria 9, ?Garzo 2¹, and Josefine 2.  Her mother, Helena Wawra lived in Kutti 554 ?D. Nyrtre¹ She was going to Fishkill, NY  (Source www.ellisisland.org) ]
• Naturalized in 1944
• Died April 20, 1963.   Buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Natick, MA

¹It was difficult to read the writing on the Ship Manifest.  The words following the ? are a best guess. 

Louie Antalek  (Ludvik)

• Born:  June 29, 1883 in Broczke, Czechoslovakia
• Married to Teresa Vavra in Kuty, Slovakia about 1900
• Immigrated to the United States on May 24, 1909 on the vessel, Fatherland.
• Naturalized on April 28, 1924.  (Source:  Fran-Waltham)
• Died:  February 5, 1953.  Buried St.  Patrick's Cemetery, Natick, MA

Their Children

Teresa and Louie Antalek had nine children. 
Two of them died in infancy (DII) ; 
Bertold, Stephen and Josephine were born in Slovakia before their parents immigrated.

On the immigration records of Helena Vavra, mother of Teresa, we see that Bertold came to America with his grandmother in 1911 and they went to the home of Louie and Teresa in Roxbury, MA.

Margaret Antalek Lentini, the youngest daughter of Louie and Teresa Antalek is an important collaborator among the Vavras who are gathering and recording family history.  We thank her for her contributions to this site, especially the Vavra family tree.    People who visit Margaret get a wonderful oral history and fun stories with illustrations from her vast photo collection, like this one below.

Marriage info.  Should be in Library copy:  Margaret F. (June 17, 1924) married Vito Lentini (Feb 5, 1922)  on 23 April 1950 in Our Lady of the River Church in South Natick Village.
